The Royal Alberta Museum ids situated the city of Edmonton. Alberta. The museum was named the Provincial Museum of Alberta till 24th may, 2005. After the visit of Queen Elizabeth II, she decided to be the patron of the Museum. So, the Museum bears much importance in the history of Edmonton. The museum is divided in three parts such as the natural history exhibit, a wildlife exhibit and the Native Culture Exhibit. The Museum is presently undergoing multi-million dollar reconstruction project. The collection of the museum is huge.

The museum purchased some precious items from the family of James Carnegie at an auction of Sotheby's on 8th May, 2006. This auction was treated as the most significant auction till date. The Museum provides a wide range of exhibitions and activities for everyone. There are 13 curatorial programs running simultaneously for the access of people to gain knowledge of the collections of natural history.

The museum remains open daily from 9am to 5 pm and it remains closed on 24th and 25th December. The museum has the facility of free parking and wheelchairs are available for the use of aged persons and the patients. There are some procedures of admission in the museum and the visitors have to pay a minimal amount for that purpose. The admission prices are the following:

  • Adults $10
  • Senior(65 yrs and over) $8
  • Student (Valid id) $7
  • Youths (7 yrs to 17 yrs) $5
  • Children (6 and under) free
  • Family( with 2 adults and a children) $28.00
  • School groups (Prices vary according to the program)

The visitors will get the admission in half price on Saturday and Sunday (9am to 11 am).

These Mammoth passes are valid for 1 year from the date of purchase. Buying the mammoth pass is not only a gift for the visitor, but also the money will be directed towards the maintenance of the museum and the ongoing events. So, indirectly, you are helping the museum for its development.

Are you searching for a place to host a wedding of your family? The museum has also the facility for that purpose also. The museum has large elegant rooms with lobbies and receptions. The rooms are adequate for 400 people. There is also an option for holding conferences and meetings-you can get a banquet hall with enough space for sitting at least 400 people together. You can also get a lecture room and a theatre room for meeting your purpose.
